Lunch with André and the Umbilical Brothers

I went to lunch with André and suddenly we were joined by the Umbilical Brothers, which was a fun surprise! The reason for this coincidence is that André's company is producing the happening tonight. They were very nice. When I told them I was coming to the show, they promised me to try not to be shit. Here's a clip:

Lilla onsdag on Youtube

If you don't understand Swedish or Finnish you'll still get the laughter ... The first clip from the first episode of Lilla onsdag 2 popped up on Youtube - which is nice! And Sonja is sweet, sweet, SWEET!

What a day!

The weather is awesome. It's springtime in Helsinki today - a perfect day for being outdoors ... I think. Greetings from the editing booth.  Just two more episodes to go!

The owl movement, part 2

Turn it up and let the joy flow ...

... and now: the album back cover!

Monika Fagerholm

I am putting the Lilla onsdag episode with Monika Fagerholm together now. She was soooo mesmerizing, very cool. Totally connected to the feeling of the moment. I'm a fan.

Early morning

Stopped by at Micke's studio to make a quick photo collage for tv. On my way to co-host the local morning show.

Letting go of vitutus

The ball in the upper left corner is my left index finger. It symbolizes the earth. The black disc symbolizes my vitutus (a great Finnish word for the essence of disappointment-based mental agony).

The Earth, as you can see, is in orbit around my vitutus. To get things in proportion. I think I´m gonna do some breathing exercises now.

The owl movement, part 1

The owls are not what they seem.

Brooklyn Prospect Park

This picture is from yesterday, we met Andrea and Michael and Adam in Brooklyn Prospect Park. We didn't know where in the park they were but we walked straight into their lap on gut feeling. Sweet.

New York, New York

This is where the day started. At the Landmark hotel, outside of New Orleans. Those of us who have been to North Korea are easily fooled. Is that .... ? Nope, it's the States. This one had certainly not seen a refurbishment since, well, ever. It's probably where naughty Best Western employees get sent as a punishment. For fairness' sake, I have to say the personnel was nice. But the place ... boy, oh, boy.

Here we are, New York, New York. The sun is shining and André is excited.

Editing Andrea

I'm editing the episode with Andrea Reuter now. She's cool. I like it when she says what she thinks. She's very funny and she's not afraid of being bitchy. I like bitches. In small doses - and Andrea has got a nice balance ... And a warm heart too.

Temporary office in NOLA

I found this bar called Pravda, with a sunny backyard complete with turtles in a pond. I was all by myself and did some editing in the sun.

The chairs were really cool, they we're actually rocking chairs thanks to this spiral mechanism. Right there, under the seat. Nerds, enjoy:

This is me before taking a bath yesterday.

Last call for the cemetery woodoo tour

It's 9:45 in the morning. I'm sitting at Café Beignet on Royal Street in New Orleans reading a book, when this black woman walks in. She's in her 60's and she's wearing a big, white hat. She calls out for participants to the cemetery woodoo tour, which seems to have the café as a meeting point. A small bunch of people gathers and there are practical questions about payment and this and that. An older couple walks out of the café and, passing by the group, tells them that they're not gonna regret it, that they themselves did the tour last year. "It's not what you expect," they say.

I'm back in my book when I hear "Last call for the cemetery woodoo tour". It's the woman with the big white hat and I can see her walking out of the café where the group is waiting. "I'll join them," I'm thinking, and I put my book into my backpack and walk out of the café to catch up.

The street outside the café is empty. No group. No corners they could have turned. They completely vanished.

Fuck! As in a positive thing!

I just wrote this complaining post about how I never get any feedback on this blog and then ... WHAM! -- a long, great comment on an old post of mine! First I thought I had missed it, but then I realized it was written just a moment ago!

Thanks Byggmästarn! You really made my day.

Boca beach

Today we went to the beach in Boca Raton. Lots of untanned unfit guys like us. Lots of tanned young chicks too, but that's alright.
